About Patria
Patria is an independent European editorial intelligence. We research, write, and publish on European politics, governance, and geopolitics — using the 12 Stars framework as our analytical lens.
What we do
Every article Patria publishes is grounded in verifiable, primary-source research. We take positions — clearly labelled as analysis — because we believe sourced opinion is more honest than false neutrality. We are not a party, not a mouthpiece, and not affiliated with any European political organisation. Movements like Astra Europa and Volt are subjects of our coverage, not our employers.
Our position
We are proud Europeans. We believe Europe's division is its greatest weakness, and that closing that gap is the defining political task of this generation. We are not left. We are not right. We are evidenced.
We are pro-European integration and sovereignty. We are critical of Russian aggression, Chinese economic coercion, and European strategic dependence on any single external power. We believe in democratic accountability, rule of law, and the free movement of people, ideas, and capital across this continent.
The 12 Stars
The 12 Stars are the analytical lens Patria uses to organise coverage of European sovereignty and integration. They map 12 structural challenges — from fiscal capacity and defence to energy, digital, and democratic governance — that frameworks like the Draghi competitiveness report identify as decisive for Europe's future. They are a diagnostic tool, not a party platform.
Editorial standards
Every factual claim in a Patria article has at least one verifiable, linked source. We use a tiered source hierarchy: official European institutions and wire agencies first, quality press second, think tanks third. We never fabricate quotes, statistics, or events. We label opinion as opinion.
